Yoga and Pilates:-
Both in weight loss, and in just a healthy lifestyle, exercise is
very important. Their complexes today are very, very much. But for
women, among them are two particularly valuable areas - Pilates and
yoga. They are similar to each other, but they also have significant
differences, which often puts women before a choice that is so difficult to
make. What is attractive about each of them, and who better suited yoga,
and to whom - Pilates?
Yoga, as it is known, is an Indian practice not only of preserving
physical health, but also a special approach to its mental and spiritual
state. Great importance is attached to internal harmony, as well as the
regulation of breathing, stimulating the work of the heart and other internal
organs. Yoga is a wonderful anti-stress remedy, it helps to lower blood
pressure, develops concentration, balance. Yoga sport for most people is
the first step towards yoga philosophy. In yoga exercises, much attention
is paid to relaxation, stretching of the back and spine, concentration in
unexpected positions.
Pilates was designed by Joseph Pilates. The technique aims to
strengthen the muscles of the body, to improve the physical condition of the
person. Attention is paid to the thought processes and the balance of breathing. Straight
and transverse abdominal muscles in Pilates are the so-called strength frame,
the center around which work on the whole organism takes place. Pilates
has control, isolation, precision, smoothness. Like yoga, they need to do
it regularly. Pilates is aimed at strengthening the organs, muscles, whole
body.
Neither yoga nor Pilates are practices that promote rapid weight
loss. They are aimed at strengthening the body, improving the organs and
systems. Therefore, to achieve a result in weight loss, both types must be
practiced regularly and for a long time. It is advisable to begin classes
with an instructor, since in the early phases it is very important to take the
correct positions with high accuracy.
Pilates is preferable to those who are not interested in any
particular philosophy inherent in yoga. When practicing yoga, a lot of
time will have to be spent on concentration, control of thoughts and emotions,
mood for positive thinking, etc. Breathing much attention is paid in both
practices.
