This the warmest season of the year and there is
no reason not to be prepared to face the sun and have your skin protected.
During summer, people tend to lose more water through perspiration and as a
result, skin becomes dry and flaky. You cannot afford to flaunt your body with
skimpy clothing and bathing suits and hide these flaws. Lucky for you because
here are some useful tips for good skin care this summer:
- Drink
plenty of water to avoid dehydration and replenish the lost fluid due to
physical activity and perspiration. If you want to stay fit, drinking more
than 8 glasses of water can wash unwanted toxins and promotes weight loss
together with proper balanced diet.
- Exfoliate
using mild products that won’t harm your skin once or twice per week. It
would remove extra dry skin patches. If you opt to choose body wax, allow
yourself more time to do this regimen for it will take 20 minutes or so.
Also, cleanse with natural or organic soap like palm and olive because it
provides mildness and softness to skin
- Flaunting
your feet during summer requires some special attention for it has to be
up for the challenge this particular season. Many complaints on feet being
dry and cracked, having warts, calluses and blisters are very common. Feet
in a warm and humid environment are home for fungal infection. Wear flip
flops or sandals over shoes to allow the feet to expose and breathe. Wear
this foot protection when going to public places like around the pool,
locker and shower room.
- Help
your skin to maintain hydration level by applying anti-aging sunscreen
moisturizers with SPF 30 for shielding you from harmful sun rays.
- Excessive
heat can dehydrate your lips so apply lip balm to protect lips from drying
and chapping. There are also lip balms with SPF. It is best in the morning
to brush your lips with soft toothbrush then apply lip balm afterwards.
- The
ultra violet rays from the sun can have serious consequences for the
health and the premature aging. Avoid getting skin cancer by using wide
brimmed hat, sunglasses, long and loose fitting with UPF (Ultraviolet
Protection Factor) clothing. Many people are unaware that dark colored and
tightly woven garments can block UV rays rather than light colored summer
outfit.
- When
the skin is damaged by sunburn, apply a cool, damp and clean cloth to
affected area from time to time. Aloe, Emu oil, jojoba oil, menthol
extract and various sunburn reliefs are available over the counter to help
the skin heal and rehydrate the burned tissue.
Are you still afraid to go out and have fun this
summer? Don’t be a kill joy. This is the perfect summer getaway with family and
friends. Just always remember that prevention is always better than cure. It
may sound like a cliche and you may hear this a thousand times, but I am 100%
sure you would never wanted to be sorry.
